John Victor LaFrance, Jr

John Victor LaFrance Jr. “Big John” was called home to glory on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at his home in Port Sulphur LA., surrounded by his loving family at the age of seventy-six. He is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Geraldine LaFrance, his precious daughter, Alicia LaFrance, his loving parents, John and Lear LaFrance Sr., also his father and mother- in- law Robert and Rosina Bartholomew Sr. and brothers Simon LaFrance and Clement LaFrance Sr.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving children: Wanda (Cedric) Miller, John, Shawn, Chad (Lucy) and Jacquetta LaFrance, and a bonus son Chris LaFrance Sr. Grandfather of Cedric and Khaiden Miller, Aerial Williams, India and Monica LaFrance, Asia Duplessis, John Black and Chyna LaFrance. Great-grandfather of Ro’yale, Braydon, Kingston, Jreux, and Emerson.

His Siblings: Anthony (Leatrice) LaFrance, Carlton LaFrance, Mary (Sidney) Black and Dorita (Manuel) Black.
He was the Brother-in-law to Marlise LaFrance, Wilbert Bartholomew, Alfred Bartholomew, Rosina Copeland, Leo Barthelemy and Gwendolyn Bartholomew and the late Jacquelyn Barthelemy and Donna Parker
He was Godfather to Jeffery Turner, Felton LaFrance, Zelda Harvey, Dionne Carter, Donyell Barthelemy, Ashley LaFrance, Leo Barthelemy Jr., Terren-Ann Bartholomew and Shannon Duplessis. Big John is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life services which will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at River of Life Ministries located at 25640 LA – 23, Port Sulphur, LA 70083. The visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., and the service will follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Roy Mareno officiating, and interment will follow at Barthelemy Cemetery in Diamond, LA.

Due to Covid – 19, facemasks are encouraged.
