Janet Marie Pierce Casimier

Janet Marie "Toots" Pierce Casimier gained her heavenly wings on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the age of 87, at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank Campus. She was born on July 26, 1937, to Jenny Sedonia Jones and Joseph "Joe" Pierce.
She was the devoted wife of 47 years to the late Elton Casimier and the mother of four: Gregory Keith Henry (Cheryl), Pastor Raynard Glenn Casimier Sr. (Thea), Nikita Marie Casimier, and Poray Cedric Casimier Sr.
She was preceded in death by two of her children, Nikita and Poray, and siblings Herman Pierce, Elton Pierce, John Pierce, Marcel Peterson and James Ernest Pierce.
Janet was affectionately known as "Maw Maw" by her eight grandchildren: Israel, Raynard Jr., Joshua, Mariah, Jabari, Poray Jr., Pierre, and Pascal. She was also the great-grandmother of six.

Janet received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior under the leadership of her son and pastor, Rev. Raynard Casimier Sr. until she transitioned. She was educated in the Jefferson Parish School System.
Relatives and friends of the family, Clover Land Adult Daycare, as well as members of Love Outreach Christian Church (L.O.C.C), New Millennium Baptist Church, and Light City Church as well as all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Fischer Community Church at 1737 L.B. Landry Avenue on Friday, December 13, 2024. Visitation will begin at 8 A.M., followed by a 10 A.M. service. Pastor James Nelson Brown will officiate, and interment will follow in Restlawn memorial Park in Avondale.
She was an elegant lady that loved to shop and dressed from head to toe with everything matching. A well-refined lady, she was. Her favorite song was "Without God, I Can Do Nothing."
She will be truly missed.
