Irvin Southall

Irvin Southall departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 at The Carpenter House Hospice in New Orleans LA., he was 81 years old . Mr. Southall was born in Algiers LA. and was a longtime resident of Gretna LA.

Son of the late Frank Southall and Audrey Jackson Southall-Varrett. Devoted husband of Norma Varrett Southall for 52 years. Beloved stepfather of Roland Scott III. Step grandfather of Joshua Scott. Brother of Barbara Birdlow (Alvin), Betty Marrero (Warren), Sylvia Ross, and the late Frank Southall III (Rebecca) and Samuel Varrett (Ava). Brother in law of Barbara Anderson (Keith), Beverly Dixon, Bernadette Gabriel (Clarence) and Veronica McCurdy (Gregory). Devoted friend Amy Butler, Jane Young, Bernadine Wright, Robbi Claverie and the late Jaqueline Denise Flagg. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death his parents, 2 grandsons ;Jarred R. Scott and Justyce R. Scott, his mother in law; Claudia Varrett- Landry, and brothers; Eddie Magee and Joseph Brown.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Israel Baptist Church 1612 Esther St. Harvey, LA. 70058. The visitation will begin at 2PM followed by a 3PM service. Pastor Darryl McKinnies is the host pastor. Interment will be private.
