Ira Charles Perkins, Sr

Ira Charles Perkins Sr., age 40, entered into eternal rest Monday March 31, 2025. Beloved son of Ira John Willis and Sabrina Perkins Trice (the late Howard Trice), his loving wife, Michelle Amos Perkins, father of, Me'Shira , Ira Charles Jr., Beyonce and Kamryn. His mother-in-law Madge Nickerson (Dwayne Sumler), he was the sibling of Tawann Latrice Perkins (Kendrick Powell) and two step siblings Antanea & Howard Trice Jr. He was the uncle of Aniyah, Raniyah, Ta'Leah, Kennedi, Kennan, Paul, Howard Ill, carmen, Ziyone, Zyrah, Kelvin, Ky'Mani, Makhyah, Kyrie, Messiah and Michael Jr., his love for each was immeasurable. Ira worked as a sandblaster and painter; his final journey was with Delta Coating. Ira will be remembered for his love of family, taking care of his car, watching the first 48, Forensic Files and going to the second line every Sunday. Ira leaves behind his mother and father, his wife and 4 children, his 2 sisters, 1 brother, 3 uncles, 6 aunts, and a host other family members and close friends to cherish his memories.

He is proceeded in death by his daughter Keira Perkins, his great grandparents George & Celo Perkins, his grandmother Theresa Willis and Lorraine Perkins, his grandfather Clem Carr & James Martin, 3 uncles Rayfield, Alvin, and William Willis, and 1 aunt Cindy Willis. His family prays that his soul has landed upon Eternal Peace and that his memory lives on in the hearts of those who were touched by his warmth and kindness.

Although he will be sadly missed, He will never be forgotten.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Victory Christian Church International located at 411 Opelousas Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70114. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and the service will begin at 10 a.m. Bishop Leroy Phoenix officiating and interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Westwego, La.
