Helen Marie Roberts Neal

Mrs. Helen Marie Neal was born in Hahira, GA on Monday, May 16, 1949, to the late Mr. Marion Roberts and Katie Roberts.
Helen was the sixth child of nine children. At an early age Helen professed God as her Lord and Savior and united with Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Hahira, GA.

Helen attended the cook county training school in Adel, GA graduating in 1967. After graduating she moved to Chicago, IL. Helen met and married Clarence Neal and to this union 3 children were born. Helen was hardworking and a dedicated woman. She worked for Padua Community Services for many years. She was a dedicated member of Greater Providence Baptist church in Algiers, LA.

Helen departed this life on Thursday, April 24th, 2025, at Ochsner Westbank in Gretna Louisiana. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Katie Roberts, her Grandparents Grant and Emma Butler and Isom and Angie Roberts. A granddaughter Ja 'Kiya Monét McDonald, two brothers Bennie (BW) White and Willie Charles Roberts; two sisters Annie Lois Robinson and Lola Grace Roberts.

Helen leaves to lament her passing her husband Clarence Neal Sr.;two daughters LaTonya Neal and Miranda Neal of Harvey LA. One son Clarence Neal Jr. of Harvey LA; and four grandchildren; J'JuanMcDonald, Ca'Ziyah Neal, Ric' Kiyah and Ric' King January . Four sisters; Mildred Washington of Schererville IN, Ruby Freeman, Maple Heights, Ohio, Wilma "Tony" Lane of Hahira, GA and Doretha"Larry" Burton of Nashville GA. Two special nephews raised as a brother; Larry Roberts (deceased) and Stevie "Jennell" Lane, Hahira GA ; Three special friends Barbara Cola, Gloria Bell and Cora Carmouche; and a host of nieces and nephews; cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Greater Providence Baptist Church located at 623 Newton Street, New Orleans, La. The visitation will begin at 11 a.m., and the service will begin at 12 noon. Pastor Javonte Jimcoily officiating and interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, La.
