Gwendolyn Griffin Encalade Harvey, departed this life on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at her home in St. Bernard Louisiana. Mrs. Harvey was born on September 19, 1951 to the union of the late Ernest Sr. and Emelda Robinson Griffin. Beloved wife of Morris Harvey. Loving Mother of Tanya (Robert) Hall, Jr. Grandmother of Terin Encalade, Robert III and Tyron Hall. Great-grandmother of Mylah Banks. Step-mother of Oren (Brekita), Everette (Ebony), Sondresha and the late Trailon (Tara) Harvey. Sister of Ernest, Jr. (Cynthia), Minister Ken, the late Kerry Sr. and Terry Griffin.
Also survived by 2 uncles, Andrew Griffin and Dwight Robinson; 2 aunts, Margie and Sharon Robinson, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at St. John Baptist Church located at 7047 LA - 39, Braithwaite, LA 70040. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., and the service will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor John D. Riley Sr. officiating, and entombment will follow at Bertrandville Cemetery on Bertrandville Road in Braithwaite, LA.
