Glenda Ann Leet Treadway passed peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the age of 79. She was born on June 1, 1946, to the late Robert N. Leet and the late Gertrude Pennison Leet.
Glenda spent most of her life in Port Sulphur, Louisiana, where she built a life centered around family, community, and connection. She worked as a substitute teacher at Port Sulphur High and served as a cheerleading coach for the Port Sulphur Bantam League, where she made a lasting impact on the young people in her community. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who poured her heart into raising her nine children.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Luther Evariste Treadway Jr; her children, Rowdy Treadway, Rebecca Nichols, Roberta Reyes, Rory (Kim) Treadway, the late Rene Treadway, Roddy "Moose" (Robin) Treadway, Raquel (Delbert) Smith, Rachel Treadway, and Ragina (Raylin) Hollier. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way. Glenda is further survived by her siblings, Robert "Bobby" (Janie) Leet and Terry Leet.
Glenda was known for her strong will, stubbornness, and unwavering spirit-qualities that defined her strength and resilience throughout her life. She had a deep love for people, always enjoying being surrounded by family and friends, making them laugh, and bringing joy to those around her.
In her later years, she spent time at the Council on Aging, where she enjoyed sewing, playing bingo and socializing. She was a member of the Council on Aging, S.A.L.T., and a former member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary. She loved attending Mardi Gras parades, visiting the casino, cooking and baking cakes for birthdays and special occasions. One of her greatest joys was fishing-so much so that when asked what she wanted for her birthday, her answer was often a new rod and reel.
Glenda will be remembered for her strength, her love of family, her lively spirit, and the countless memories she created with those who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Carolyn Sylve for sharing her faith, devotion, and love of God with Glenda; to Heart of Hospice Nurse Michelle, who brought great comfort with her kindness and presence; Chaplain Dwayne, social workers Melissa and Victoria, all the nurses/aide and sweet Ms Cindy the volunteer ( who called every week to see if we needed anything) for the compassionate care and support they provided during Glenda's final year.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 28698 LA-23, Port Sulphur LA. 70083. The visitation will begin at 9AM followed by an 11AM mass officiated by Father Lawrence. Entombment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
