Gerald Raymond “Zock” “Piccalo” Ragas gained his wings on Friday, May 7, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 76 years old. He is the son of the late Samuel Ragas Sr., and Mary Andry Ragas.
He is the husband of Lois Anderson Ragas, and the father of Valeria Ragas, Tara St. Ann, Lakita Billiot (Evan Jr), Cedric Ragas (Amanda), and Trava Ragas (Robin). He was the loving grandfather to 13 grandchildren Carl Stewart III, Tray Stewart Sr, Dontesha Stewart Murry, Alex St. Ann Jr, Jonquel St. Ann Sr, Tre’ Vone Ragas, Tralonia Ragas, Traleah Billiot, Toiya Ragas, Cedlyn Ragas, Kirasten Ragas, Te’ Veone Matthews, and the late Traillon Ragas. He is the brother of Eunice Ragas Williams, Janice R. Ingraham, Joseph Ragas, Ruby Trufant, Betty R. Espradron, the late Samuel Ragas Jr, Geraldine R. Ducro, Barbara R. Prout, Michael Ragas, and Bobby Lynn Ragas. Also left to cherish his memory is 9 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and devoted friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Plaquemines Parish Government, Nairn Concrete, Daybrook Fisheries, Family Dollar, and the Heart of Hospice are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church located at 27954 LA – 23, Port Sulphur, LA 70083, at 11 a.m. The limited visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Pastor Allen Johnson officiating and interment will follow at Mt. Zion Memorial Park Cemetery in Empire, La.
The family will also receive guest for a visitation on Friday, May 14, 2021, at Robinson Family Funeral Home 9611 LA – 23, Belle Chasse, La 70037 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
