Gail Elizabeth Thompson Miller, 78, entered eternal life on September 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Gail was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Christian Henry Thompson, Jr. and Dorothy Elizabeth Rauh Thompson, both Navy veterans. Her family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1955 and she graduated from Martin Behrman High School in 1965. She attended Loyola University and earned her certification in Dental Hygiene in 1967 and her Bachelor of Science degree in 1970. She spent her adult life dividing her time between her homes in Belle Chasse, Louisiana and Carriere, Mississippi.
Gail was a devout servant of the Lord, known for her unwavering faith and love for Jesus. For 25 years, she was an active member of Resurrection Life Worship Center in Picayune, Mississippi, where she served in the Healing Room and found fulfillment in helping others. Gail was also the co-owner of Magnolia Monument with her husband, Neville. She used her talent as a graphic designer to create meaningful memorials. Gail and Neville often met with and compassionately counseled those grieving the loss of loved ones, offering them comfort and understanding during difficult times. Above all, her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. She cherished their silliness and loved nothing more than to laugh and giggle with them. Her ever-present smile and generous heart touched everyone around her. Her absence leaves a hole in the hearts of those she loved so fiercely, but her love and laughter will live on in the memories she created.
Gail is survived by her husband, James Neville Miller and their daughter, Lainie Miller; her children from her first marriage to Frank Morse, Jr.: Tracy Morse, Frank Morse, III (Amy), and Scott Morse (Kristie); her grandchildren, Christian Morse, Lucas Morse, Amelia Morse, Aidan Morse, Lauren Miller, Leland Miller, and Carley Morse; her sisters, Susan Thompson Birdsong (Charles) and Debbie Thompson Stohlman (Robert); her nieces, Lori Headland (Scotty), Christi Vollertsen (Jim), and Rebecca Winn (Tom); and her best friend, Roslyn Milligan.
Gail is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Scott Randall Morse, her granddaughter, Caylee Marie Feurtado, and her brother-in-law, Robert Stohlman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at One Hope Church in Belle Chasse, Louisiana at 10:00 a.m. for family and 11:00 a.m. for the public. The funeral service will begin at noon, followed by interment at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana.
