Gabriel “Gabe” Michael LaFrance, Sr. was called home on Friday January 7, 2022, in Orlando, Florida at the age of 39 while working for Capital Vacations OPC (off property contact) Marketer. He also worked for Wyndham New Orleans as a community marketing agent for 5 years. Gabriel was a native and lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish LA.
Beloved son of Eddie LaFrance Sr., and Jennifer Sylve LaFrance. Devoted father of Gabriel “Fat Boy” Michael Lafrance Jr. Loving companion of Brittany Crump. Brother of Eddie Jr., and Jeremy (Tasha) LaFrance. Grandson of Victoria Sylve and Elvina Vaughn. Uncle of Shaniya, London and Jemma LaFrance, Kameron Devalcourt, Xavion Wilson, and Jaylin LaFrance. Nephew of Hazel LaFrance, Shirley LaFrance, Francis (Haywood) Davis, Mary Ann (James) Blackwell, Chalsea (Dwayne) Sylve, Jessie (Calvin) Gause, Kenneth (Rachel) Sylve, Ebben Sylve, Cornelious (Erika) Mackey, and his favorite aunt Janet Sylve and the late Sandra Lee Barthelemy.
He is predeceased by his grandparents Azalie and Felix LaFrance, great-grandparents Morris and America Sylve, Sr., Antoine and Alvernia LaFrance, Daulphine LaFrance and Clay Leon, Sr., his aunts Sandra Lee (Olen) Barthelemy, Josephine (George) Brooks, Mary Jane Duplessis and Theresa Leon, his uncles Clay, Jr., Chester Pichon, Jr., Calvin and Harold LaFrance, Sr., Morris (Cecile) Sylve, Jr. Clarence Jr. and Christopher Sylve and his cousin Shelley Carlton.
Gabriel was born at West Jefferson Hospital on October 15, 1982. He was a 2000 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. He later attended Southern University of Baton Rouge. Gabriel truly lived life to the fullest. He devoted all his time to his loving son, Lil Gabe, who meant everything him. He enjoyed playing baseball, football, and spending time with his nephews and nieces. He also loved to cook his famous “matrix burger” which everyone loved.
Gabriel will be truly missed by friends, family and all who knew him.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church located at 8968 Hwy 23, Belle Chasse, LA. 70037. The public viewing will begin at 9A.M. follow by a 11A.M. mass. Father Kyle Dave will officiate, and entombment will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery. Repast will be held at 333 F. Edward Herbert Blvd. Building 555, Belle Chasse, LA 70037.
