Freeman “Butch” Roderick McQuarter departed from this life on Monday, November 14, 2022, at the age of 58. He was born on July 7, 1964, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the son of the late James Henry McQuarter, Sr. and Mary Etta Williams McQuarter.
Freeman was the biological son of Charlie Lemar, and father of Crissy C. He was a loving grandfather and great-grandfather. He accepted Christ in July 1975 and was baptized at the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church in Algiers. Later he became a member of Fischer Community Church. He graduated from the John McDonough High School and attended Southern University College at New Orleans.
Freeman “Butch” was known for his generous and kind nature and the love he had for his family and friends.
Freeman was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary McQuarter; grandparents, Freeman and Bertha Hamilton Williams; uncles, Edward Williams and Willie Lee Williams; aunts, Ora Lee Farmer and Mildred Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Crissy C. (Malachi) of New Orleans, Louisiana; grandchildren, Keeri and Malachi, Jr.; brother, James McQuarter, Jr. of New Orleans, Louisiana; sister, Jamesina McQuarter-Collins (Thomas) of New Orleans, Louisiana; uncle, Robert Williams, Sr., aunts Ernestine Williams and Lynn Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Jesus is Lord Evangelistic Ministries located at 1728 Hancock Street Gretna, Louisiana at 10 A.M. Visitation will begin at 9 A.M. Elder Donald C. Williams will officiate, and interment will follow at Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale, LA. Facemasks are still encouraged.
