Elvis Alverez Griffin Sr.

Elvis Alverez Griffin Sr., departed this life peacefully on Friday, Feburary 26, 2021 at his home in Davant, La., surrounded by his loving family.  He was 64 years old and was an employee of Electro Coal Transfer in Davant for over 38 years. 

He is the son of the late Clarence Griffin Jr., and Leona Simpson Griffin.  
Devoted and loving husband of the last 43 years to Kathleen Williams Griffin.  Beloved father of Elvis A. Griffin Jr (Shannon), Arell Q. Griffin Sr. (Tarika), Ahmad D. Griffin and Kneaka N. Griffin.  He is the grandfather of Elissa, Elise, Areil Jr., Ashanti, Jayceon and Jaycon Griffin. He is the step grandfather of Shanna White, Paula Snowden Jr., and Kareem Steward Jr.  

Brother of Calvin Griffin Sr. (Edna Mae), Jeanette Taylor (late Nelson), Gerald Griffin (late Helen), Barbara Smith (Molton Sr.), Jacqueline Frederick (Anthony), and the late Anna Mae Griffin and Clarence Griffin III (Rose Marie).  

He is the brother-in-law of Allen Williams Jr. (Norma), Alvin Williams Sr. (Paulette), Anna Mae Isidore (Claude), Joyce Encalade (Late Terry), Irvin Williams Sr. (Joann), Alton Williams, Margie Encalade (late Michael), Wilma Taylor, and the late Doris Isidore (late Roland Sr.)

Son in law of the late Allen Williams Sr., and Beatrice G. Williams

Godfather of Roland Isidore Jr. Godson of Alice Barthelemy & the late Raymond Espadron.  

Elvis is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.  

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at St. Thomas Catholic Church located at 17605 LA – 15, Point – A – La – Hache, La., at 11 a.m.  The limited visitation will begin at 10 a.m.  Father Sampson Abdulai officiating, and entombment will follow in St. Martin Cemetery in Davant, La.  

Due to COVID – 19, EVERYONE in attendance MUST wear a facemask or other proper facial covering and practice social distancing.
