Elnora "Nora" Ross Lee, born on February 28, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 27, 2026, in Schertz, Texas. She was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church of New Orleans, Louisiana, where she worshiped devotedly until her health declined.
She was the beloved wife of the late Altus Lee Jr. and the cherished mother of her devoted daughters: Gisele M. (David) Lawrence, Michele S. (Gerald) Roberson, and Trichelle M. Lee. She took immense pride in her role as grandmother to Anthony J. and Gilisa M. Lawrence.
Elnora is survived by her loving sisters: Shirley Johnson, Elvina "Jenny" Johnson, and Elaine (Darryl) Thomas; and by her sister-in-law, Marcella A. Ross. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and dear friends. She was a treasured mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend whose gentle spirit and unwavering love touched all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys Johnson and Elie Ross, and by her brothers Preston Johnson Sr., Ronald Johnson, and Cleophus Martin Jr. Elnora will be remembered for her kind heart, her steadfast devotion to her family, and the warmth and compassion she shared so freely. Her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Second Baptist Church, 2836 Sullen Place, New Orleans, LA 70131, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with Minister David Richard Sr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Terrytown, LA 70056.
