Ellery Chris also known as "Black" Henry departed his earthly life on Friday, March 6. 2026. Age 59, resident of Algiers/Cut Off Community Beloved son of the late Ethel and Louis Henry Sr; Devoted partner of christine evans; Loving father of Brittany, Brionne, Ellery Jr, Eric and Christopher Cheatteam; Loyal brother ot Norma Jean (Walter), Louis Jr (Wendy), Valisha and the late Brian Henry. Grandson of the late Frank and Charlotte Charles & Robert and Stella Henry; Grandtather of Aaliyan, Alayla, Lloya, Kiyah, Deshawn, Anthony, Lyric, Kris, and Legacie; Nephew of Sylvia Charles, Augustine Cook, Willie Mae Green, Stella Jimcoily, and Geraldine Robinson; mother-in-love; Carolyn Jimcoily, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Second Nazarene Baptist Church and all neighboring churches, & Compasses, Hospice, & Palliative Care are invited to attend the funeral Service at Greater Providence Baptist Church, 623 Newton Street, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Javonte Jimcoily is the host pastor and Rev. Randolph Crawford, officiating. Visitation at the above named church, 8:00 am until time of service. Interment will follow at McDonoghville Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
