Ellen Harvey Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ellen Marie "Dubby" Harvey, who left this world far too soon at the young age of 48, after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer. Ellen passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends.
Ellen was born at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 19, 1977, and raised in Buras, Louisiana. She graduated from Buras High School in 1995 and went on to study nursing at Southeastern Louisiana University. After stepping away from her studies, she began the most important chapter of her life - motherhood. She welcomed her first son on April 10, 2000, and her second son on September 29, 2003, the two greatest joys of her life.

After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Ellen made Baton Rouge her home, where she built a life filled with love, resilience, and cherished memories. She later found her calling in banking, where she built a successful career and most recently served as a Relationship Banker at LNB. Ellen was a true people person - her coworkers and customers adored her. She had a gift for making everyone feel valued, always going above and beyond to ensure they were cared for.
Ellen loved deeply and poured her whole heart into the people she cared about. Even when life wasn't easy, she faced every challenge with strength, courage, and determination. She had a way of making the best out of every situation, never asking for much, but always giving her all to make sure she and her boys had what they needed to thrive.
To know Ellen was truly to love her - she was one of a kind. Her spirit was bright and unshakable, filled with honesty, humor, and so much heart. She touched lives in ways that words can never fully capture, leaving behind love and memories that will last forever.

She found joy in the simple things: enjoying a cold Bud Light, finding ways to get her vegetable garden to grow as she wanted, cooking late-night full-course meals, soaking in the beauty of the outdoors, and sharing laughter with those she lovingly called her "village boys." More than anything, her greatest joy and deepest pride were her two sons, Koren and Kaleb, who were truly her world. There was nothing she wouldn't do for them.
Ellen is survived by her devoted sons, Koren and Kaleb Williamson; her loving parents, Shelia Borden and Hayward Harvey; her sisters, Trichelle Duncan and Stephanie Borden; her nephews, David III (godson) and Donovan Duncan; her brother-in-law, David Duncan Jr.; her aunts, Noarnice Riley (Late Herman), Iona Preston, Sherrie DeVore(Kenneth), Monike Turner (Burghart), and Lou Sylve; and her uncles, Sidney Harvey (Kathy), Victor Harvey, Gregory St. Ann Jr. (Brenda), and Ronald Bartholomew. She also leaves behind her godparents (Aretha Etienne and Victor Harvey), a multitude of cousins and a circle of dear friends, especially Antigua Denet Franklin, Eniece Bentley and Torie Jones, who will forever cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her stepdad Stanley Borden, grandparents Edith and Gregory St. Ann Sr, and Pearl and Rev. Hayward Harvey Sr, aunt Leuverta "Toni" Gamblin, uncles Joseph, Yogi and Edward Bartholomew
Though gone too soon, Ellen leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, a reminder of how deeply she cared and how fiercely she loved.
