Elizabeth Simmons Kennedy

Elizabeth Simmons Kennedy departed this life peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at her home in Avondale LA. She was 84 years old.
Daughter of the late Lawrence Simmons Sr. and the late Alettia Williams Simmons. Wife of the late Loris Kennedy Sr. Devoted mother of Cynthia Simmons, Loris Simmons Jr., Paula Simmons, Felton Simmons, Ray Kennedy, Danneel Kenedy, Shanel Kennedy, Sabrina Kennedy, Demetrice Kennedy, Mark Kennedy, Terrell Simmons, Desiree Franklin (Elton), and the late Kevin Kennedy. Adopted mother of Tony Renalds (Erin). Sister of Mary Lee Alexander, Louise Littleton, Patricia Harris (Lionel), Richard Simmons, James Simmons, Edward Simmons, Phillip Simmons (LaSandra), Alvin Simmons, Theodore Simmons, and the late Lawrence Simmons Jr., Alcide Simmons and Herbert Simmons.

Mrs. Kennedy is also survived by 44 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and devoted friends. She was also predeceased by her grandchildren Lakesha Lotten and Jamizia Simmons and nephew Renee Alexander.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, at The Progressive Church, 437 Cohen St., Marrero LA. 70072. The visitation will begin at 9A.M. followed by a 10A.m. service. Pastor Sterling Mealancon will officiate, and entombment will follow in Woodlawn Park Cemetery located at 9820 9 Mile Point Rd., Westwego LA. 70094.
