Dora K. White, age 86, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother entered her heavenly home on Saturday, June 5, 2021. She was born on January 31, 1935 to the union of the late Andrew and Eva Kelly Sr, in Killona, Louisiana. She was one of eight children. Dora was the loving and devoted wife to Harry White for 61 years. From this union Paula White Ainey and Pamela M. White were born. Upon leaving St. Charles Parish to live in New Orleans, Dora attended Straight Business School graduating with an Associate’s Degree. Dora worked various jobs until she found her passion with Orleans Parish School Board as a Food Service manager for more than 33 years. Dora was baptized in the 1950’s at the Greater King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church where she maintained her membership until her death. While there she served on Usher Board No 1 including holding the office of president for many years. She was also actively affiliated with the Louisiana Freemen Ushers.
Dora is survived by her husband Harry, daughters Paula and Pam, one granddaughter Michelle Ainey Robinson (Harold) and sister Carol L. Kelly Dunbar.
She is preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Eva Kelly Sr., brothers Andrew Jr., James Sr., and Alvin Sr., sisters Helen Jones, Irma Kelly, and Beulah Toney.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Celebration of Life service on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11 am at the Greater King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church located at 3305 Audubon St. NOLA 70125. The visitation will begin at 10 am. Reverend John T. White officiating and interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery 4000 Norman Mayer Ave., NOLA 70122.
