DEACON PAUL THEODORE MACKEY “TOTSY’, left this earth peacefully on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at his home in Port Sulphur LA. surrounded by his love ones. He was 80 years old and was a lifelong resident of Port Sulphur. He was a devoted member of the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church of Port Sulphur where he served as a deacon. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with many years of dedicated service.
He was born on June 23, 1941 to the late Nora Lee Davis and Paul Mackey. Deacon Mackey was united in Holy matrimony to his devoted wife of 20 years Sonia Gabriel Mackey on June 23, 2001. He is the loving father of Ernest Mackey, Vicky (Cornell deceased) Thomas, Don Mackey, Melissa (Wilbert) Richardson, Christopher (Sharkay) Mackey, Christina Mackey, Ursula (Bruce) McKinney, Otis (Shannon) Mackey and the late Detrice (Byron) Williams. Stepfather of Tiffany Lightell and Cierra Gabriel. Brother of Marvin (Dieadra) Mackey Sr., Eric (Frankita) Mackey Sr., Herman (Sharlene) Mackey Sr., Lorry (Jeffery Sr.) Rapp, Louise ( Terry deceased) Riley, Henry Davis, Germain (Wren) Reagan and the late Alonza Reed, Cathy Williams and Beverly (Dan) Ragas Sr. Brother in law of Robin (Gregory) Vaughn, Suzette (Lilton) Harvey, Shane Gabriel, Wade (Medea) Gabriel, Danielle (Benedict) Oguzie, Natasha (Michael) Mitchell Jr. and the late Shelly Barthelemy. Godfather of Rodrione Parker, Albert Davis, Larissa Tinson, Keithlyn Williams, Omari Mackey and Jaheim Williams. Devoted friend of Emmett Williams Jr., David Prout and Pastor Allen Johnson. Son in law of Sherman and Bernadette Gabriel. Deacon Mackey is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, July, 24, 2021 at the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church located at 27954 LA-23, Port Sulphur LA. 70083. The visitation will begin at 9A.M. followed by an 11A.M. service. Pastor Allen Johnson will officiate and entombment will follow in the Mt. Zion Memorial Park Cemetery in Empire LA.
Mrs. Mackey and the Mackey family will receive guest on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Robinson Family Funeral Home located at 9611 LA-23, Belle Chasse LA. 70037 from 7P.M. until 9P.M.
