“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”
On Sunday, April 4, 2021, at 3:15 a.m. at East Jefferson General Hospital Heart of Hospice, God dispatched an angel to the bedside of Darril Leon Prout, Sr. to take him to his heavenly home as his beloved wife Florence Cole Prout of 56 years was right by his side.
Darril was born November 15, 1940 to the late Chancy and Thelma Rodgers Prout. He is the father of Mark (Deanna) Prout, Arnold Prout, and Rev. Darril, Jr. (Maria) Prout. He is the grandfather of Marlon (Tess) Prout, Tyra Prout, Darrilyn (Malcom) Bihm, Malik Prout, Mallenia Prout, and the late Mark Prout, Jr. The great grandfather of Angel Savoie, Danielle Hansel, Marlon Prout, Jr., Mason Prout, Malaiyah Ancar, Malcolm Bihm, Jr. Mila Bihm, Major Prout and Malahn Prout. Fluffa, Paw Paw, Pop or Daddy, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was a quiet, loving, kind man who was Boothville born and bred. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his early years and was an avid fan of wrestling and the Chicago Cubs. We thank God for the 80 years he had on this earth, he left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him. Now as 2 Timothy 4:7-8 states, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
