DARRICK HAYS, entered Heaven’s Gates on Wednesday, April 21 2021. He was received with open arms by his Heavenly Father. He was 50 years old and was a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans La.

Devoted husband of Kendra Gettridge Hays. Beloved father of Erick, Dawanna and Cherise Jack, Teraneka and Dedrick Gettridge, his baby boy Kedrick Hays and Cendra Williams. He was also the father of his fur baby “Bella”. Brother of Walter (Marcia) Hays and Julius (Tammy) Ivery. Brother in law of Jules (Kenyata) Gettridge Jr. and Joan Ruthie Williams. Son in law of Berilyn Gettridge. Godfather of Kachand Jenkins and Paisley Williams. Nephew of Freda Joseph, Mercedes (Cornell) Watson, Marcel Mack, Delco Gettridge and Larry McBride. Longtime friend of Gary London.

Darrick was preceded in death by his parents Dixie and Delma Hays, his grandparents; Walter and Annie Hays, a son; Darrick Jack, his mother and father in law; Jules and Gwendolyn Gettridge Sr., and his aunts and uncles; Connie Williams, Nerisa Smith, Helen Hodges, Marvann Gettridge, Robert (Augustine), Ferdinand and frank Gettridge, Calvin Mack and Sam Joseph.

Relatives and friends of the family, employees of Fresenius Dialysis Center, Chartwells, George Washington Carver Sr. High School, Reliable Community Alternatives, Home depot, Civil Construction, Vital Link Home Care, Ochsner Hospital Main Campus. N.O.P.D., H.A.N.O., Admiral Enforcement and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday May 1, 2021 at Next Generation of Original Morning Star F.G.B.C. located at 3536 St. Ferdinand St. New Orleans La. 70126 beginning at 11A.M. The visitation will begin at 10A.M. Pastor Tyrone Smith is the host pastor, Pastor B.K. Stevens of Faith Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Abbeville, La. will officiate.

Due to COVID-19, EVERYONE in attendance MUST wear a mask or other proper facial covering and practice social distancing.
