Curtis Williams Obituary

Curtis Williams, Sr. was born on February 20, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Jessie Mae Williams. Curtis entered a quiet eternal rest on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
Curtis expressed his belief in Jesus Christ. When asked about his faith, he would openly acknowledge and affirm that he believed in Jesus Christ and had a relationship with Him. He will be fondly remembered for his presence, his love for family and friends, and the memories shared with all who knew him.
Curtis graduated from L. B. Landry High School in 1972, where he played the Sousaphone (tuba) instrument in the band. Later, he attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1973.
He was formally employed with Bergeon Chrysler for ten years, the Housing Authority of New Orleans as a Security Guard, and Rupp/Towing Record Service for several years. He also worked at Fastway Food Store. Curtis was a family man. He enjoyed playing music, swimming, and was active in watching his grandkids play sports.
He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Paula Bean-Williams, 38 years of marriage; one son, Curtis, Jr. (Tiffany); Stepchildren, Alvin (Sheridan), Arethea Ann, and Kentrell; four siblings, Glenn Sr. (Michelle), Cynthia (Roberto), Darryl, and Kenneth Sr., (Debra); Sisters in law, Valda (Alvin); Patricia, and Melvina; Brothers in law, Gary, Jerry, Chris, Philip, and Allen; Grandchildren, Quaron, Carlie, and Curtis III; Step-grandchildren, Lilly, Alton, Christopher, Nastia, Nyah, and Najee. Also survived by a host of great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Curtis was preceded in death by his Mother, Jessie Mae Williams; Mother in law, Leola Bean; Grandparents, Josephine and George Williams; Aunt, Oneida Ballet; Uncles, James, George, and John Williams; Brother, Elliott Herbert Williams; Nephew, Glenn Michael Williams, Jr.; Brothers in law, Abner Bean, Sr. and Alvin Bean.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Fisher Community Church located at 1737 L.B Landry Ave., New Orleans LA. 70114. The visitation will begin at 8AM followed by a 10AM service. Bishop James Nelson Brown will officiate and entombment will follow in McDonoghville Cemetery 520 Hancock St. Gretna LA.
