Clarence Hunter, Jr. entered eternal rest at the Chateau Living Center on Tuesday August 8, 2023, at the age of 64. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Harvey, LA. Clarence was educated in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. He enjoyed playing sports for MLK Parks and Recreation, where he was an exceptional football player. Clarence retired from working tirelessly at varies shipyards as a painter and sandblaster. He was an active member of Israel Baptist Church in Harvey, LA under the leadership of Pastor Darrell Mckinnies. Loving husband of twenty-five years to Lois Ann Hudson Hunter. To this union five children were born. Brian (Joelle) Keller, Terri (Kevin) Hunter, Terrence (Shay) Hunter, Clarence Hunter III, and Shone Hunter. Clarence was born to the union of Dorothy Rose Mae Hunter and the late Clarence Hunter Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories his five children, twenty grandchildren, seven brothers Darrell (Danielle) Hunter, Lawrence (Betty) Hunter, Reginald Hunter, Terrence (Taisha) Hunter, Paul (Alicia) Hunter, Christopher Hunter, and Malcolm (Lakisha) Hunter, five sisters Gloria Green, Anna Mae Lanaute, Amenda Smith, Corliss (Robert) Newton, and Jacqueline (Jack Sr.) Scott. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Clarence Sr., brother Samuel Ellis and sister Delores Jenkins.
Relatives and friends of the family, pastor, officers, and members of Israel Baptist Church o Harvey, and all neighboring churches, employees of Chateau Living Center are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday August 19, 2023, at Israel Baptist Church located at 1612 Esther Street, Harvey, LA 70058. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and the service will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Darrell McKinnies officiating, and interment will follow at Evening Star Cemetery in Harvey, LA.
