1984 - 2024

On Tuesday, May 7 at the age of 39, Rev. Chris went home to be with the Lord at University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a life-long resident of Phoenix, Louisiana. He was born on July 21, 1984 to the late Chris Barthelemow and Alzida Fay Bienemy. Loving husband of Nikita Barthelemow and loving father of Na'kiya and Ca'Mari Barthelemow.
He was the brother of the Monique Barthelemow and Nataire Lafrance. He was the grandson of the late Daroll Bienemy (Jeannie) and Melisha Picquet Bienemy. The great grandson of the late Lorina T. and Alfred (Big Daddy) Griffin. He was the uncle of Marrion Felix, Ja'Siah Barthelemow, Essence, Evonce, Evonnee, and E'xavier Brown. He was the nephew of Dimitri Pierce (Troy), Daroll Bienemy, III, Yolanda Williamson (Charles), Derrick Bienemy (Nakita), Latisha Wafer (Christopher), Yvonne Harvey, Merlene Cornin, Ellenore Savage, Lee Marvin, Vernon, and Brian Barthelemew. He is survived by one great aunt, Anna Mae Etienne. He was the son-in-law of Dale and Barbara Major. He was a devoted friend of Eugene Bentley, Pastor Nadel Cosse', and Pastor Quintin Washington.
He was baptized at St. John Baptist Church in Phoenix, Louisiana where he served faithfully as an Associate Minister. He was also Associate Minister of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis Tennessee. Rev. Chris loved the Lord! He loved talking about the Lord. He was a prayer warrior and he stood on the promises of God. He graduated from Phoenix High School in 2002. He was employed as a Correction Officer for 13 years with the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Officer until he retired due to medical conditions.
Relatives and friends of the family, Pastor, officers and members of St. John Baptist Church of Phoenix, Louisiana and all neighboring churches in the community of Phoenix, St. Bernard and Orleans Parishes, employees of Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Office, Popeyes, LaCoste Elementary, and CMMBA are invited to attend a Musical at St. John Baptist Church 136 St. John Lane, Phoenix, LA on Friday, May 24, 2024 7:00 PM and a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM, Rev. Rommel E. Griffin, Sr., Pastor, Officiating. Visitation will begin 9:00 AM.
Interment: St. Joseph Cemetery, Phoenix, Louisiana.
