Charles “Charlie Brown” Picquet, departed this life on Monday, December 7, 2020 at his home in Phoenix, LA. He was 54 years old and a lifelong resident of the eastbank of Plaquemines Parish.
Beloved son of the late August Ferdinand Picquet Sr. and Leona Bentley Picquet. Devoted father of Brerra (Steffone) Tinson Howard and Jamarcus Tinson. Loving companion of Ivy Encalade. Beloved brother of Monica, Von Eric (Lynette), Corey (Tiffany), Jarel (Quiana) Picquet, the late Pastor August F. (Regina) Picquet Jr., the late Aubrey Picquet, and the late Timothy (Darlene) Williams. He was the loving grandfather of Caysen and Jaycee Howard, and the nephew of James, Sidney (Audrey) and Pam Bentley, Dianne Bienemy (Rudolph), Brenda Henry (Henry), the late Leo Bently (Gloria), Irvin Picquet (Peggy), Anna Etienne (the late Seagle), late Velma Duplesis (Antoine), the late Cynthia and Linda Bentley, late Betty Jean Simeon (late Alvin), Sandra Phelps, Augustine Marshall, Rev. Dr. Alberta Jackson, Octavia Cross (late Pastor Melvin Cross Sr.,), Melisha Bienemy and Julia Picquet. He was the godfather of Sherman Encalade and Janishia Benton. Godson of Pastor Clarence Riley and the late Jeannie Williams Bienemy. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, employees of Popeyes in Belle Chasse, LA., After Dark Softball Team, Orleans Parish Justice System, OMI, Plaquemines Parish Sheriffs Office, Hospice Speciality of Louisiana, and all churches in Plaquemines and St. Bernard Parishes are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at St. Joseph Baptist Church located at 156 St. Joseph Lane, Phoenix, LA, at 11 a.m. The limited visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Pastor Nadal Cosse’ officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will also receive guest for a visitation on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Robinson Family Funeral Home, 9611 LA – 23, Belle Chasse, LA, 70037, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
