Cathy Mae Williams Obituary

Cathy Mae Espadron Williams was born on May 29, 1965 while on the way to the hospital leaving her mother to call her, "Mae West, who is different from the rest" and different she was. She died on July 6, 2025, at 60 years old peacefully at her home where she wanted to be. She was the beloved and devoted daughter of Linda Jones Espadron and the late Alexander Espadron, Sr. She was the loyal and dedicated wife of Joseph Randolph Williams for 35 years. Cathy Mae was the cherished and treasured sister of Alexander Espadron, Jr (Deidre), Norman Blake, Danna Lynn, Jeffery Tyrone (Denise), Rebecca Ann, Coretta Kay Espadron, and Alicia Jane Espadron Gaines (Jerome), great niece of Margie Smith, niece of Linda Espadron Antoine (late Wilfred, Sr) and Arnold Espadron. Additionally, she was the sister-in-law of Gwen Jackson, Monica Lefall, Brenda Duncan, Amanda Broussard (Adrian), Mary Preston (Kirk) and the late Dr. Donna Williams. She was the Goddaughter of Linda Espadron Antoine, and the late Harrison Parker. Her godchildren were Nataire Brown, Akira Williams, Brianna Craig, and Jerome Gaines, Jr. She was the aunt of 38 nieces and nephews, 54 great-nieces and nephews, and 5 great-great-nieces and nephews. She was the granddaughter of the late Leo and Mary Ann Williamson Jones, late Emile, Sr and Josepha Parker Espadron, and daughter-in-law of the late Joseph E. and Hilda T. Williams. Cathy graduated from Port Sulphur High School Class of 1983 where she was a great pitcher for the Lady Bronchos and was also one of Fly's girls. She went on to attend UNO, but only for ONE day. But, she cried to come back and Mommie being Mommie, she came back home. She started working at Fil-a-Sac and from there, she went on to stay with her Tee Margie working in the kitchen at Woodland Nursing Home until she married Joseph Williams. She then worked at Wal-Mart until she began working for the United States Postal Services until she retired. Cathy loved her designer bags which she kept on display in her china cabinet. Her cornbread dressing and baked macaroni were the first to go at family gatherings. Then there were her cakes, if it was your birthday, you were sure to get a big chocolate or vanilla cake, with some family members being privileged to get both. They were huge cakes! She loved getting her hair done by a lady named Dianne that lived behind her Tee Margie's house. It was a guarantee that when she stepped out of her house, she was dressed up. She loved going to the Jazz Fest, Endymion Parade, or simply staying home to read a romance novel or two from the many books that she had collected. Cathy was a giving person, "if she had it, you had it." Cathy and Joseph did not have any children, but for Christmas, they would have a tree up with many presents for their nieces and nephews. She did this for a while, individual gifts at first and then she started getting family games for the household as the number of their nieces and nephews grew. Cathy was preceded in death by her father, 4 nephews, 1 niece, grandparents, in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and other families and friends. Cathy leaves behind a family who will miss her tremendously, but we all know she's no longer suffering. Family and friends of the United States Postal Services ~ Belle Chasse, Plaquemines Parish Sheriff 's Office, and all who were touched by her are invited to attend a visitation at 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM on Friday, July 18, 2025 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 28698 Highway 23, Port Sulphur, LA 70083, Fr.
