Catherine Pickett Obituary
Catherine "Pat" Pickett entered into eternal life on Saturday, February 7, 2023, at Touro Infirmary Hospital, in New Orleans, LA. She was born on August 22, 1942, in Crystal Springs, MS. Pat worked at Touro Infirmary Hospital for nearly 40 years until Hurricane Katrina. She was a devoted member of St. Peter AME Church in New Orleans, LA.
Those who went on to be with the Lord before her is her mate of nearly 40 years, Roy Lee Johnson; her paternal grandparents, Jim and Annie Pickett; and maternal grandparents, Benjamin Eugene and Iola Williams Benson; her parents, Richard and Emma Pickett; her siblings, Robert "Dick" Pickett (Willie Bell); Sara Pickett Price (Claude Price); Linda Johnson; Marilyn Huchison (John) and Darrell "Head" Pickett.
Beautiful memories of love and wisdom will be reflected on by all who were blessed enough to have shared any time with Pat. She was never one to shy away from meeting someone and for passing along a piece of her great heart. Those left who will miss her most are her daughter, Chenita Elease Pickett-Amos (Brodery Holliday)*, her granddaughter, Creshon Patrice Amos, of Austin, TX; her son-in-law, Howard Amos, Harvey, LA; and her companion, Alfred J. McCorkle* (*New Orleans, LA); her siblings, Evelyn Thompson, of Slidell, LA; Iris (James) Brent*, Claiborne "Smokey" (Faye) Pickett*; Sylvia Longino, of Richland, MS; Malcolm "Mac" (Minnie)*; Janice (Albert) Charleston, of Terry, MS; Richard "Ricky" Pickett (Patsy)*, sister-in-law, Audrey Pickett*; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, all of Crystal Springs, MS.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the Celebration of Life Service which will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Holy Faith Temple Church located at 1325 Governor Nicholls St., New Orleans, LA. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., and service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Overseer Jakavious Pickett, Holy Faith Temple-Biloxi will officiate.
Due to Covid - 19, facemasks are strongly encouraged.
