Carrie Encalade Miller

Carrie "Momma Carrie" Encalade Miller was called to her heavenly home to be with the Lord on September 27, 2025, at the age of 97. She was a resident of Dalcour, Louisiana. She leaves to cherish her love and precious memories her devoted children, Audrey M. (Ulysses, Jr) Banks, Eddie (Shanna) Miller, Beatrice (Lester) Williams, and Hicks (Ashley) Miller; a devoted granddaughter, Trina Rodrigue; daughter-in-law, Patricia Miller; son-in-law, Joseph "Charlie" Francis; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Victoria Taylor Encalade; her husband, Freddie Miller, Sr.; her children, Carrie "Bert" Francis, Freddie Miller, Jr., Melvin Miller, and Allen Lewis, Sr.; siblings, Bernice Jiles, Joseph Schexnayder, Agnes Encalade, Louise Barthelemy, and Beulah Thomas.

Momma Carrie's life was a beautiful testament to the power of faith and strength of family. She cherished her pastor/nephew and deeply loved her church family. One of her greatest joys was using the AMAZING gift of singing God blessed her with. Her voice moved the hearts of all who heard it; it was her ministry! Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit lives on through her family and the legacy she left behind.
Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, officers and members of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Dalcour, LA, surrounding churches, employees of Plaquemines Parish School Board and Fire Department, LCMC Health, United States Postal Service of Plaquemines, Louisiana are invited to attend the service.

A Christian Celebration will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 111 Bethlehem Lane, Braithwaite, LA on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11AM, Rev. Dr. Michael W. Jiles, Sr., officiating.
Interment: Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. 258 Bertrandville Rd., Bertrandville, LA.
