Carol Ann Dixon

Carol Ann Mackyeon Dixon, age 66, departed this life on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at LCMC West Jefferson Medical Center. She was a Native of New Orleans, LA, grew up in Sorrento, LA, and a resident of Avondale, LA. She was a 1978 graduate of Grace King High School. She graduated Delta College in 1988 where she earned her Certified Nursing Assistant Diploma. She was employed with West Jefferson Medical Center for 19 years. Throughout her career, she was known for her hard work and dedication to helping others.
Carol was a devoted Daughter, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, & Friend.
She is survived by her husband Calvin Dixon, her two children, Tamara (Brian Jr.) Gray and James L. Stewart Jr., Five Grandsons: Brian Gray III, Blake Gray, James Stewart III, J'Alan Henry, & Jordan Stewart; Two Granddaughters: Janae Stewart & Baley Gray; and Two Great Grandchildren: Riley Tinson and Khalan Bruce; Four Sisters, Three Brother-In-Laws and Two Sister-In-Laws. Also cherishing her memories are a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, officers, and members of Second St. John Baptist Church, Little Zion Baptist Church, as well as all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Little Zion Baptist Church located at 433 Avondale Garden Road, Avondale, LA, 70094. The visitation will begin at 9AM followed by an 10AM Celebration of Life Service.
Pastor Damian Brown will officiate, and interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Avondale.
