Burnedette Lee Johnson entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 14th, 2022, at Ochsner Main Campus at the age of 69. She was always a very generous, giving and loving lady. Daughter of the late Haywood Johnson Sr, and the late Patsy Gladys Wilson Johnson. She is the granddaughter of Elijah Sr., and Elmer K. Wilson. Mother of Joseph, Shannon, and Orenthal Allen. Mother-in-law of Robin Ruffin – Allen and Felicia Allen. She is the grandmother of Orenthal Jr., Reagan, Isaiah, Ariana, Jasmine, Jada, Jaden Allen, Juan Ruffin and Terrance Declouet. Great grandmother of Irielle, Isaiah Jr., and I’Ieigh Allen. Sister of Pastor Haywood Johnson Jr (Gail), Joseph (Joan), Rev. Gary (Kathy), Pastor Nathaniel (Michelle) Jimcoily, Laverne Black, the late Verline Camese and Lois Johnson. Sister-in-law of the late Jake Black and Eddie Camese. Godmother of Tysheeka Cross, Corey Wilson, Ahijah Ether and De’John Nathan – Black. Devoted cousin of Cassandra Wilson and devoted friend Sylvia Reff. Her little helper Makiya Wilson. She is also survived by 2 aunts Betty Wilson and Pearl Sylve, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. Burnedette was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church of Ironton where she served as a choir member until her illness. She was also a member of the Plaquemines Parish Seasoned Saints 50 plus choir. Burnedette attended Scottsville High but graduated later from Adult Education. Burnedette was employed by LSI, Divine Purpose Homecare LLC, Chateau De Notre Dame and the Institute for Networking Community Services. She was a lifelong resident of Ironton, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, officers and members of St. Paul Missionary B.C., Fisher Community Church, Mt. Olive #1 B.C., Greater Morning Star Missionary B.C., Solid Rock Missionary B.C., Second Nazarene, Regular Baptist Church and all neighboring churches also Christian Ministers Baptist Association of Plaquemines Parish, Union Baptist Theological Seminary, Employees of Touro Home Health and Daybrook Fisheries are all invited to attend the celebration of life services which will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2022, at Fisher Community Church located at 1737 L.B. Landry Blvd, New Orleans, LA. The visitation will begin at 8 a.m., and the service will begin at 10 a.m. Pastor James Nelson Brown officiating and interment will follow at OLPH Cemetery in Belle Chasse, LA.
