Bruce Collins

Bruce Collins Sr. passed away at Tulane Medical Center on Sunday November 12, 2023, at the age of 63. He was a Native of New Orleans and a lifelong resident of Algiers. Beloved husband of Yvette B Collins. Devoted father of Bruce Collins, Jr. and Alicia Benjamin. Son of the Late Johnnie Delaney Jr. and Herdie Collins. Son in Law of Summuel Benjamin. Grandfather of Carter Collins, Taff Rivers III, Time Rivers, and Truth Rivers. Bother of Annie Southern (Emigene) of Vaughan, MS, Dollie Smith (Virgil) of Petal, MS and Jeanette Collins of Hattiesburg, Ms. Eva Gibson (Walter), Debbie Adams of Picken, MS., Percy Collins of Petal, MS, Charlie Clerk (Lenoir) of Waggaman, La, John Collins (Gwen), and Willie Delaney of Picken, MS.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents, (3) sisters, (1) brother, (1) grandchild and a nephew, and is survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.  The family of Bruce would like to thank the staff at Tulane Medical center for comforting him.

Relatives, Friend, Pastors, Officers, and Member of First Free Mission Baptist Church are welcome to attend the funeral services on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at First Free Mission Baptist Church, 426 Lamarque Street, New Orleans, LA 70114. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Services will be officiated by Reverend Derrick Edmond Jr. Entombment will follow s at McDoughville Cemetery located at 520 Hancock St, Gretna, LA.
