Bobbie Jean Spinks Coon Gaubert

Bobbie Jean Spinks Coon Gaubert, age 87, was called home to her heavenly father on Friday December 5, 2025, in Belle Chasse, Louisiana surrounded by her loving family following a long struggle with illness.  She is survived by her devoted husband of the last 15 years, Rufus “Bob” Gaubert, with whom she had many adventures which included eloping to Las Vegas, traveling to Europe, and traveling extensively in their RV. 
Bobbie was the daughter of Walter Beard Spinks, Sr. and Pauline Spinks, stepdaughter of Lucille Spinks, sister of Walter “Sonny” Spinks, Jr., and the wife of first husband Henry David Coon, all of whom predeceased her. 

Bobbie was the mother of Douglas (Tammy-deceased, Jill) Coon, Michael (Sachiraya) Coon, Paula (Harold) Dove, the late Samuel Coon, stepmother of Dale Ann (Frankie) Adolph, Bobbie Nell Gaubert (Erron, Sr.-deceased) Holland, and the late Rufus “Junior” Gaubert, Jr. She was the beloved grandmother/step grandmother of James Coon, Davide (Jessica) Coon, the late Kyra Coon, Tayler (James) Burns, Leigh Ann (Edward) Kirby, Baiden Dove, Desney Armes, James (Kaci) Dove, Kayla (Richard) Haas, Brittany Dove, Amanda (Fred) LaRue, Frank “Buddy” Adolph, III, Erron (Patty) Holland, Jr., and Brock (Megan) Holland. Bobbie also left behind great-grandchildren Derek Coon, Dylan Coon, Audrey Wolfe, Olivia Wolfe, Lucas Burns, Edward Kirby III, Henry Kirby, Jorden Savoie, Jayden Dove, Bently Dove, Macy Hass, Damon Hass, Levi Goings, Isaac Goings, Izzy Goings, Layla Goings, and Alex LaRue to cherish her memory, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to the relatives named above, Bobbie touched the lives of many and there are countless people, usually friends of her children or grandchildren, who also called her “Granny.”
Before moving to Buras, Louisiana, Bobbie was born and raised in Jonesville, Louisiana.  She never met a stranger and for years she could be found in Bobbie’s Beauty Shop in Buras styling hair.  In addition to her gift for hair dressing, Bobbie was a regular church goer and for many years was an active member of the Buras Community Christmas Choir.  

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) Catholic Church located at 8968 Hwy.23, Belle Chasse, LA, on Thursday, December 11, 2025.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. -The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice and Robinson Funeral Home for their loving care and support.
