After graduating from Phoenix High School in 1979, Billy was employed at United Bulk Terminal and International Marine Terminal before his final employment at the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office.
Billy was well known for his athletic skills. His competitive spirit allowed him to excel in whatever sport he participated in, and he was regarded as one of the greatest athletes of his time. He was a prominent member of the After Dark Softball Team where he served as Team Captain. One particular title could not define him, as Billy also fulfilled many other roles within the organization. Billy spent countless hours traveling to different sporting events to support and mentor the youth from the Plaquemines Parish community. Later in life, he developed a passion for golf. This opened a new chapter in his life and his love for the game was rivaled only by his love for his family and friends. He was a proud member of the River Parish Golf Association where he made lifelong friends and was awarded the RPGA 2023 Flight Champion during his first year of membership.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Though we say goodbye for now, this is not the end. His spirit lives on in the love he gave, the lessons he shared, and the lives he shaped. Until we meet again, in God's presence, may he rest in eternal peace.
