Betty Jean Shaw McGill

BETTY JEAN SHAW MCGILL was born on December 22, 1956, in New Orleans LA. to the late Hattie Boss Shaw and Kary Lee Shaw. She entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the age of 64.

Loving wife of Terry McGill Sr. Devoted mother of Terry McGill Jr. and Dr. Alicia Carter-Watts. (Lucius). Grandmother of Tiana Watts and Lucius Watts IV.  Sister of Joann Rhodies (Darrell), Katie Shaw and Amanda Smith (Murray). Niece of Amanda Washington. Daughter in law of Rushie Pearl McGill. Sister-in-law of Audrey, Dorothy, Larry, and Steve. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, members of carver Desire Baptist Church, alumni of George Washington Carver High School class of 1974, employees of Casual Corner, Carlton Cards, Carver Middle School, Schaumburg Elementary School and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. High School and others are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Ray Avenue Baptist Church located at 4712 Ray Avenue, New Orleans LA. 70126. The visitation will begin at 9A.M. followed by a 10A.M. service. Pastor James R. Willis Jr. will officiate, and interment will follow at Resthaven memorial Park 10400 Old Gentilly Road, New Orleans LA. 70127.

Due to COVID-19, everyone in attendance must wear a facemask or other proper facial covering.
