Bernel James Prout Jr. "Lip"

Bernel James “Lip” Prout Jr., departed this life on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero LA. He was 66 years old and a native and lifelong resident of Boothville LA. Beloved son of Sedonia L. Rapp and the late Bernel J. Prout Sr. Stepson of the late Leroy Rapp Sr. and the late Bernice Prout. Brother of Dwayne T. Rapp, Clinton D. Rapp, Leroy Rapp Jr., Lachella A. Jones, and Clitras R. Prout. Stepbrother of Charles Prout, Van Prout, Brad Prout, Lance Prout, Brunel Prout, Baranice Grant, Benita Freeman and the late Blionel Prout, Preston Prout and Beatrice Prout. Godfather of Markecia R. Barthelemy. Bernel is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday January 15, 2022, at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church located at 39752 LA-23, Boothville LA. 70041. The visitation will begin at 9A.M. followed by an 11A.M. service. Dr. Theodore Turner Jr. will officiate, and interment will follow in Tropical Bend Memorial Park in Empire LA.
