Beatrice "Baby Sister" Young at the age of 85, departed this life peacefully on
Friday, November 10, 2023, at her residence. She was a native of Indianola, Mississippi, and a resident of Algiers, LA. She was one of four children born to the union of the late Hattie Jones and Jack (Lula) McCalebb.Beatrice was a graduate of L.B. Landry High School, class of 1957. She was a retired domestic worker of many years, her last job was with her adopted son, Dr. Carlos Sirven. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Prime Young, son Derrick Young Sr., grandson Derrick Young Jr. Her brothers Perry (Helen) Storia & Edward McCalebb. Her bonus sister Sallie B. (Ernest) Ancker. Her mother and father-in-law Clarence Sr. and Margaret Young. Her late sister-in-law's Kitty Mae
Young, Selina Young, Irene Young, and Dorothy Jackson.

Her late brother-in-law's, Robert Young, Clarence Young Sr., Oliver Young Sr., Terry Young Sr., and Ralph James Sr. Her godmother the late Alberta Moliere. She leaves her devoted daughter Nicole LaShone Young. Her sons Marlon Charles and Rodrick (LaTanya) Young Sr. Her sister Betty McCalebb. Bonus sister Madeline Johnson. She leaves five grandchildren Derrick A. (Bridget) Collins, Deverick (Taylor) Ross, Rodrick Young Jr., Lauryn (Raymond) Rose, and LaShone Young. Bonus grandchildren Bobby John Collins, Emanuel Collins, Joshua Collins, and Paulette (Gary) Moore.

Her 14 great-grandchildren are Mynicia, Derrick Jr., Lyric, Karon, Da'Niyah,
K'yiren, K'yahre, and Marcel Collins. Michael Prejean, Breiana Washington, Kennedy Jackson, Romelo Fortune, Royce Morgan, and Garrett Moore. She leaves two aunts Lula Mae Wilson and Geraldine Young. Her sister-in-law's Grace, Mary, Annie Mae Young, and Daisy James. Her brother-in-law Ellis (Christine) Young. Her god sister Barbara Gettridge Tross. Bonus son Clarence Johnson Jr. Her bonus daughters are Amanda (Stanley) Cross and Deneen Camese. Her godchildren LaToya Foster and Abby Warmier. Her devoted nieces Debra (Walter) Tanner, Cynthia Jackson & Cecily Johnson. Her devoted friends Edith Anderson, Athermise Allison, Joyce Harrison, Linda Hayward, and Gloria Henry. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, family, friends. All are invited to attend, Ochsner Medical Center, JBL Homes, West Jefferson Medical Center, Keefe's A/C, Heating & Electrical, O'Reilly Auto Parts, and Homer A. Plessy Community School.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Algiers United Methodist Church located at 637 Opelousas Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70114. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and the service will begin at 10 a.m. Pastor JoAnne Pounds and Elder Allen P. Leonard officiating. Interment will follow at McDnoughville Cemetery in Gretna, LA.
