Barbara Patrice Rodney Carpenter

Barbara Rodney Carpenter "Sookie" departed this life on December 21st, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 10, 1966, to the union of Pastor Stanley and Gail Steib Rodney. She is survived by her siblings, Bonnie (Late Earnest), Henderson, Dale (Late Gregory) Jacob, Jacqueline (Jerome), Canselo, Min Candy (Pastor Nathan) Denis Sr., Stanley (Jennifer) Rodney Sr., and Troy Greenup.

Barbara was a proud graduate of John Ehret High School in Marrero, La., she was a commercial license holder and owned her own cab company for several years. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Also left to cherish her memories are her uncles and aunts Thresa (Earl) Tassin, Willie Mae Antoine, LIsa (Joseph), Washington, Ruby Joseph Sanders (Lodice) Ellis, Sandra Ellis many other relatives and devoted friends.

She is preceded in death by two brothers in law, Gregory Jacob, Earnest Henderson, 1 nephew Jerome Canselo Jr.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Holy Hill Baptist Church, 1409 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey, LA 70058. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and the service will begin at 10 a.m. Pastor Nathan Denis officiating and interment will follow at Burton Cemetery in St. James, La.
