Arnold Joseph Savoy

Arnold Joseph Savoy, beloved husband, son, nephew, cousin, and friend, left this world at the age of 56 on December 24th, 2020.  Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 22, 1964, to John and Barbara Savoy, Arnold grew up in Avondale, where he graduated from John Ehret High School.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Holy Cross College.  Arnold retired from the Bank of Louisiana as a Credit Collection Manager. On June 25, 1994, he married Terese Simmons.

In his past time, he enjoyed watching television and listening to music.  He also loved spending time with his service dogs and best friends, Happy and Tigger.  If Happy and Tigger were not welcomed somewhere, Arnold felt he was not welcomed there either.  Arnold’s greatest love was giving and helping others.  He lived his life following the Beatitudes of the Bible and the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.  Arnold was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Arnold was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Whitney and Mary Elder Washington and Rene Cormier, his paternal grandparents, Clement and Stella Savoy, aunts, Irene Washington Mouton, Anna Mae Jones, and Olena Broussard, uncle, John St. Julien, and godparents, Clifford and Melvina Savoy.

Arnold leaves behind his wife, Terese Savoy, parents, John and Barbara Savoy and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church located at 6851 River Road, Westwego, LA, 70121, at 10 a.m.  The limited visitation will begin at 8 a.m.  Father John Perino officiating.  Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church Cemetery.    

Due to COVID – 19, EVERYONE in attendance MUST wear a facemask or other proper facial covering and practice social distancing.
