Mrs. Angel Marie Sylve Williams transcended to her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Angel Marie Sylve Williams was born February 6, 1952, at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is the oldest daughter of the late Beatrice "Bea" and the late Lazard D. Sylve. She was a graduate of Phoenix High School, Class of 1971. She also graduated from Delta College with a certification as a Medical Assistant and attended Dillard University in New Orleans, to pursue a degree in Nursing. Angel Sylve Willams was united in holy matrimony to the late Edward Matthew Williams. Angel was the sister of Burnell Sylve Sr. (Lisa), Eric Sylve Sr. (the late Andrea), Bernice Augustus (Julian), Russell Sylve Sr. (Aurthrine), Terry Sylve Sr. (the late Terry), and Greg Sylve (Violet). She was the loving grandmother to Ambrelle Williams, Amiyah Williams, Akelia Smith, Elijah Smith, Kelsey Williams, Bailey Williams, Kennedi Williams, and Keslyn Williams Jr. Great-grandmother of Michael Jiles III and Aubrielle Angel Jiles. She was the Godmother of Michaelin Sylve Sr., the late Olarion Etienne, Kendrick Isadore Sr., Hershell Ragas, Dontrell Smith, and Amal Mims. Angel made first communion and confirmation at St. Thomas Catholic Church at a young age. Angel was truly a woman of God with strong faith. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies: thou anoint my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Angel worked at Meadowcrest Living Center as a medical assistant for 17 years. She also worked for Plaquemines Parish School Board System until her retirement. She was the Head Director of the National Girl Scouts organization for the East bank of Plaquemines parish. Angel had a heart of gold and she fed and cared for anyone in need. She loved the great outdoors, fishing, crabbing, planting flowers, but most of all her grandkids and family meant the world to her.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories with her beloved children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and beautiful daughter Shondreka Monel Williams.
