Alice Mae Merrick

Alice Mae "Banky" Merrick, departed this life on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Riverbend Nursing Home in Jesuit Bend LA. She was 72 years old and a native and lifelong resident of Triumph LA. Banky was a person who loved her family dearly and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted member and deaconess at the First Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Empire LA.

Beloved daughter of the late Joseph Alcide Merrick and Beatrice Lafrance Merrick. Devoted mother of Tiffany, Jamekia, David and Adonis Merrick, and the late Tyronne D. Merrick. Proud grandmother of Tyronne Merrick, Natalie and Haven Sylve, Jacqueline Merrick and Anthony and Kiari Davis. Sister of Mary Duncan (Mancil), Barbara Ingraham (late Jerry), Joyce Narcisse (Cledmon), Kevin Merrick Sr.(Rolenda), and the late Joseph Alcide Merrick Jr. Banky is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the First Mt. Zion Baptist Church located at 32471 LA-23, Empire LA. 70041. The visitation will begin at 9AM until 10:50AM ONLY. The celebration of life will begin promptly at 11AM. Dr Reginald H. Burl Sr. will officiate, and entombment will follow in the church's cemetery.
