Alexander Charles Duncan, Sr.

Alexander Charles "Rock" Duncan Sr. departed this life peacefully at his daughter's home in Tickfaw LA. on Sunday, February 11, 2024, with his loving family at his bedside. He was 71 years old and a native of Buras LA. and a longtime resident of Homeplace LA. Son of the late Edward Duncan and the late Bernice Keller Duncan.

Beloved husband of Jane Ellen Duncan. Devoted father of Charlotte D. Gause (deceased Avery), Antoinette D. Jones (Edward Sr.), Alexandra D. Henry (Gregory Sr.), Alexander C. Duncan Jr. (Aisha) and Hazel D. Jones (Edward Jr.). Grandfather of Brent Duncan, Elroy Duncan, Johnny Andry III, Ronald Duncan, Domni Duncan, Joune' Andry, Montel Duncan, William Foster, Jessica Foster, Skylah Duncan, Ha'iden Duncan, Alexander Duncan III, Ha'ilee Jones and Har'lee Jones. Great grandfather of Zion Duncan, Xzavier Duncan, Jakerra Davis, Zaira Duncan, Kameron Davis, Journei Demolle, Naaji Foster, Taylor Duncan, Remi Duncan and Triston Duncan. Brother of Edward Duncan Jr, (Annie), Mercedes D. Jones (Clifford), Ernestine D. Amedee (deceased Ronald), Phyllis D. Mackey (Anthony Sr.), Cynthia Duncan, Claude Duncan, David Duncan Sr. (Starla), Mary D. Espadron (Kirk Sr.), and the late Randolph Duncan (Rhonda), Patricia Duncan and Jeanne Houston. Godfather of Troy St. Ann, Clayton Duncan and Wayne Brown. Godson of Leola Wilson and the late Charles Keller Sr. Rock is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters in law, other relatives and devoted friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, managers and employees of Grillot Construction Company of Belle Chasse are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church located at 39752 Highway 23, Boothville LA. The visitation will begin at 9AM followed by an 11AM service. Pastor Theodore Turner Jr. will officiate, and interment will follow in Mt. Zion Memorial Park Cemetery in Empire LA.
