Adolph Bennett, Sr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 68, surrounded by his loving family.
Adolph was born on October 17, 1957, in New Orleans to his parents. He was a hardworking and dedicated man who took great pride in providing for his family and serving his community. Throughout his life, he was known for his strength, wisdom, and steady presence. He was a proud graduate of L.B. Landry High School.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. Adolph cherished time spent with his loved ones and created lasting memories through family gatherings and laughter. He had a deep appreciation for cooking, sports, fishing, music, and attending second lines. Those who knew him will remember his warm spirit and generous heart.
He is survived by his children, including Ashton Bennett, Sr. (Alicia), Armond Bennett, Sr. (Charlene), and the late Adolph Bennett, Jr. (Tameka); his grandchildren: Adolph III, Tamia, Ashton, Jr., Alacia, Amyrih, Amyah, Armond, Jr., Avah, and Acai; and one great-grandson, A'Nyze Starks. He is also survived by his siblings: sisters Dianna Bennett, Nikkitta White (Gregory), Merilyn Ross (Freddie), and Vennetta Waller (Reginald); and brother Ernest Ruffin (Tonique), aunt and uncle, Anna Perkins and James Smith Sr., along with a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Theresa Earl; father, Grant Bennett; stepfather, Lawrence Earl, Jr.; and siblings: brothers Melvin Bennett, Sr., Ardelphus Bennett, Sr., and Walter Smith.
A memorial and repast to honor Adolph's life will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at 419 Lapalco Blvd., Suite 1, Gretna, LA 70056.
Adolph Bennett, Sr. will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
