Sirnell “Bubba” Carter was born to Yvonne Rogers and Sidney Moore in Lake Charles, LA on September 17, 1946. He departed this life on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in Houston, Texas. He was 70 years old and spent most of his life in New Orleans 9th ward. Bubba accepted Christ at an early age.

Glad to be on God’s green earth. He was proud, yet modest. He was kind, yet meek. Standing firm on shaky ground one that had no greedy plan. Knowing wealth has no true worth. Sirnell lived as a humble man who was clothed with God’s grace. Sirnell was a peaceful and patient humble man gentle and always content.

He wouldn’t want us to focus on the sadness of his death, but instead focus on the happiness in our lives. He would want us to appreciate each other and our future. Although we will miss him, his smile, his love, we take consolation in the good feelings of our memories. As with many good men, Sirnell Carter legacy will survive in the minds and hearts of those he touched, rather than in books, honors and monuments.

He was preceded in death by his mother Yvonne Rogers, two sisters Zeola McCullough and Brenda Easly, three brothers; Bobby Moore, Louis Moore, Sr. and Irvin Rogers, two Brother in-laws Jerome Severe and Bobby Steen.

He leaves to cherish his memory two aunts Mary R. Kelly, of Oakland Ca., Mable Rogers of Baton Rouge La., three brothers Ronnie Moore of New Orleans La., Terry Moore of Los Angeles California, and Gaylord Mustin (Rosalind Mustin) of Kansas MO, four sisters Peggy C. Severe of New Orleans, La., Daphne Hollingsworth (Wesley Hollingsworth, Sr.) of New Orleans La., Gail Moore Steen of Grand Prairie Tx., Cynthia Jean Moore of Los Angeles, CA., and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Sirnell Carter “Bubba” humility made an impression on all who knew him and the memory of him will be cherished for many years to come.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Robinson Family Funeral Home located at 9611 Hwy 23 Belle Chasse, LA  70037 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Kelvin Moore of Los Angeles, Ca  officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery 8200 Airline Drive Metairie, LA  70003.
