Shelia Marie Mackyeon

SHELIA MARIE MACKYEON, departed this life on Saturday October 5, 2019 at her home in Avondale, La. She was 56 years old and was a native of Kenner, La. and a lifelong resident of Avondale, La.  She graduated from Grace King High School in Metairie, La. and was a member of Second St. John Baptist Church in Avondale, La.  She will always be remembered as our ‘Big Mac’.

Beloved daughter of Millie M. Landry.  Step daughter of the late William S. Landry. Devoted sister of Shirley Williams and Carol (Calvin) Dixon of Avondale, Patricia (Roman Sr.) Davis of Harvey La., Lesia Mackyeon and Jacqueline Landry of Gretna, La. one beloved brother Wayne Morris. Also preceded in death by her sister Betty Harris, and 2 brothers Clarence Johnson and Rodney Morris.  Sister in law Betty Johnson.  Niece of Roosevelt Mackyeon Sr., Frank Joseph Jr., Ophelia Mackyeon and Gloria Dean Harding.  Godmother of Demetria LeBranch, Shakina Landry, Isaac Hart, King Mackyeon and Raleigh Penwright.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and devoted friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday October 10, 2019 at the Second St. John Baptist Church located at 242 Avondale Garden Road Avondale, La.  The visitation will begin at 8:30 A.M. followed by a 10 A.M. service. Pastor Charlie Davis will officiate and she will then be laid to rest in Restlawn Park Cemetery located at 3540 US 90 Avondale, La. 70094
