Richard Charles Thomas Jr., 67, was called home on October 16, 2017 at Ochsner Hospital in Jefferson, La. Richard was born in New Orleans, LA at Charity Hospital to the late Richard Charles Thomas Sr. and Late Juanita Giles Thomas. 

Richard grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from Booker T Washington in New Orleans, LA. He enjoyed eating red beans and rice, fishing, shooting pool, fixing vehicles, working on houses, and hanging out with co-workers, family, and friends.  

Richard is survived by his ex-wife Elizabeth Taylor Thomas, sisters Audrey Scipio, Adeline (Hogan) Jacobs , Shirley (late Milton) Cryer , Joyce (Marion) Chambers; his children Jerri (Harry) Thomas-Williams, Efram (Lorraine) Scipio, Richard A. (Bridgett) Jones Sr., Keith (Shameka) Thomas and Courtney Thomas, adopted child Minh Pham, 13 grandchildren, 7 great-children and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

Richard was preceded in death by mother Juanita, Father Richard, Sisters Betty and Jacqueline. 

A Memorial Service will be held at John McDonogh VFW Hall 475 Monroe St Gretna, LA 70053 on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 1 PM until 5 PM.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Charity of your choice.
