Reverend Wilfred James Franklin Sr. entered eternal rest on December 11, 2018 in Houston, Texas at the age of 80. He was born in Boothville, La and lived most of his life in New Orleans until recently moving to Houston, Texas with his daughter and son-in-law.

Beloved son of the late Andrew Boyd Franklin and Beulah Powell Franklin. Beloved husband of the late Viola Alexis Franklin. Devoted father of Wilfred (Patrina) Franklin Jr., Latrelle (Shon) Franklin Sr., Lisa (David) Thomas, Letha (Glenn) Garrett, Jimmy (Danise) Franklin Sr., Ron (Shantell) Franklin Sr., Jasmine Franklin, and Sheena Manuel. Stepfather of Carlos Williams. Brother of Hubert (Teresa) Franklin Sr., Bernice (late Alvin) Jones and the late Andrew (late Lois) and Clement Franklin. Brother-in-law of Paul (Brenell) Alexis Sr. Linda R. Alexis and the late Perry L. Alexis Sr., Brenda Stanley, Gary Alexis, Kevin and J.W. Alexis. Nephew of Bertha and Sam Powell. Godfather of Pearl Jones and Tammy Smith. Deceased also survived by 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also members of Word of Life Church Houston, TX, employees of the Westin New Orleans Canal Place Hotel, Walmart Supercenter, Algiers Dental, Barrier Construction, Boomtown Casino, English Turn Golf Course and Country Club UMW St John Grand Lodge / Pride of Marrero Lodge 291 and Daughters of Marrero #41 OES, and Exqusitive Furniture and Repair Service are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday December 22, 2018 at Israel Baptist Church located at 1612 Esther Street Harvey, La 70058 at 10 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Dr. Johnnie Mckinnies officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Avondale, La.

Rev. Franklin’s children will also receive guest for a visitation on Friday December 21, 2018 at Robinson Family Funeral Home located at 9611 Hwy 23 Belle Chasse La. from 6P.M. until 8P.M.
