Nathan Leroy “Dick” Taylor Sr. departed this life peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Ochsner Westbank Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was 74 years old and was a native and lifelong resident of Boothville La. until relocating to Port Sulphur following Hurricane Katrina. He retired from Plaquemines Parish Government as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member of the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Boothville.
Son of the late Herman Taylor Sr. and Ruth Williams Taylor. Loving husband of Linda Williams Taylor. Devoted father of Wanda (Dennis) Mallard, Nathan (Charlotte) Taylor Jr., Michelle (Danny Sr.) Barthelemy, Anthony Taylor, April (Carl Sr.) Davis and Monica Taylor. Beloved brother of Doretha (late Calvin) Jones, Herman (Alice) Taylor Jr. Claudette (late Ernest) Roussell, Iris (Samuel) Williams, Letha Mackey and Trushell Taylor. Grandfather of Tremeka, Wilfred “Ernie”, Nathaniel, Ashlyn, Nathan III, Barry, Alayna, and Kayla Taylor, Monee’ and Malik Smith, Danny Barthelemy Jr., Jasmine Williams, Donovan Barthelemey and Carl Davis Jr. Great grandfather of Quindell and Brandon Taylor, Taylan Varnado, Jayden Termon, Janiyah Barthelemy, and Danny Barthelemy III. Brother-in-law of Irene Martin, Mildred Costic, Gloria Mackey, Larry (Faynell) Williams Sr. and Peter (Sharon) Williams. He was predeceased by 9 siblings. He is also survived by devoted friends Mancil Duncan Sr., Kevin Merrick Jr., Paul Mackey Sr., and Clement Parker, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors and officers of Mt. Olive B.C., Mt. Sanai B.C., The City of Love Church, Greater St. Peter Church and all neighboring churches also Plaquemines Parish Government, former employees of Patterson Rental Tool Company, Ascension Parish School Board, Retif Oil and Fuel Company, Chevron USA and The U.S. Department Of Transportation Maritime Administration are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Taylor on Saturday June 23, 2018 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church located at 39752 Highway 23 Boothville, LA 70038 at 11 A.M. Visitation will begin at 9 A.M. Dr. Theodore Turner officiating. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery in Buras, LA.
The Taylor family will also receive guest for a visitation on Friday June 22, 2018 at Robinson Family Funeral Home 9611 Highway 23 Belle Chasse, LA 70037 from 6P.M. until 8 P.M.
