Herman Leroy Riley

Herman Leroy “Shu-Shu” Riley departed this life peacefully on Monday July 16, 2018 at West Jefferson Hospital In Marrero La. surrounded by his loving family. He was 74 years old and was a native of and lifelong resident of Port Sulphur La. until relocating to Marrero La. in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.  He was also a retired Patrol Sergeant with the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Department with over 35 years of dedicated service.

Son of the late Sidney and Gustavia Riley.  Devoted husband of 51 years to Narnice Harvey Riley. Beloved father Avery (Dwanna) Riley Sr., Aretha (Michael) Etienne and Celeste (Larry) Lafrance Jr.  Step son of Ella Riley.  Brother of Bevelyn Williams, Reshell (Karey) Lambert and Renell Riley and the late Clark Sr., Jackie Sr and Rodney Riley Sr. and Connie Ragas.  Grandfather of Michael, Avery Jr.,Maria, Royce, Autumn, Rayoni and Ashton.  Great grandfather of Gregory, Pe’Tyn and Reign.  Godfather of Dallas DeVore, Carla Prout, Priscilla Gibson, Melissa Prout and Tara Pichon.  Deceased also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters and brothers in law, other family and devoted friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian burial on Saturday July 21, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church located at 28683 Hwy 23 Port Sulphur La. at 11 A.M.  Visitation will begin at 9 A.M.  Father Gerald Stapleton celebrant.  Entombment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery and Mausoleum in Port Sulphur La.

The Riley family will also receive guest for a visitation on Friday July 20, 2018 at Robinson Family Funeral Home located at 9611 Hwy 23 Belle Chasse La. from 7 P.M. until 9 P.M.
