Ernest “Chris” Lightell

Ernest "Chris" Lightell, departed this life on Tuesday July 10, 2018 at West Jefferson Hospital in Marrero La. He was 53 years old and a native of Ironton La. Son of the late Leonard Lightell Sr. and Amanda Verna Trufant Lightell. Former husband of Holly Lightell. Beloved brother of Leonard (Marcia) Lightell, Linda (Joseph R.) Glenn, Darryl Lightell, Carl Lightell, Rochelle (John) Hightower and Inez (Jessie) Johnson.Beloved stepfather of Dajon Jenkins, Javonne Jones and Melody Gullage. Step grandfather of DaNaj Whitley, Chrishell Taylor and Chance Zenon.

Nephew of Melvin Smith, Fernand (Hannah) Trufant, Marie Jackson, Virginia Trufant, Eugene (Gayle) Trufant, Nathan (Michelle) Trufant and Shirley Jason. He also had a special bond with his nephew Leonard (Tiger) Lightell III, friends Ronell Brooks, Spencer Fay Gray and Brandon Mitchell. Deceased also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.

Relatives and friends of the family also staff of Joellen Smith Convalescent Living Center, The Light House For The Blind, Davita Dialysis Center (Berhman Hwy), and Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Marrero La. Pastor Thomas J. Brown Jr. and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday July 14, 2018 at the St Paul Missionary Baptist Church located at 133 Bradish St. Ironton La. at 11A.M. Visitation will begin at 9A.M. Pastor Haywood Johnson Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow in Ironton Cemetery in Ironton La.
