Charles Joseph Sanders Sr. transitioned into eternal life on June 16, 2017 at Ochsner Westbank surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of Earline Green Sanders for 49 years. Father of Charles J. Sanders Jr. (Amanda) and Kronda Sanders. Devoted and loving grandfather of Keondra Young, Kiera Barnes, Charles III, Priscilla, Ashton and Deanna Sanders. Son of the late Pierre “Peter” and Gertrude Jones Sanders. Brother of the late Peter Sanders. Beloved nephew of Willie and Harriet Sanders Thomas and Elizabeth Sanders.

Brother-in-law of Robert (Essie), Enoes (Joanne), Enell (Bernard), Earl Sr., Glenda and Ronald Green and the late Geraldine Hill, Milton and Clyde Green and Shirley Trufant. Godfather of Terry Elow King, Wineoka Terrance and Gregory Sanders. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, employees of Cenex Harvest States and Riverbend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church at 14747 Hwy 23 Belle Chasse, LA 70037 at 11 AM. Visitation begins at 9AM. Pastor Joseph Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Bayhi Cemetery.
