Anthony Larry Gibson

 Anthony Larry Gibson departed this life on Monday November 19, 2018 at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero La.  He was 70 years old and a lifelong resident of Port Sulphur La. where he worked as a commercial oyster fisherman and a cement finisher.

Son of the late Albert Patrick Gibson Sr. and Laura Lafrance Gibson.  Devoted and loving brother of Shirley Gibson, Mary Gibson and Lela (Michael Sr.) Sylve, and the late Albertine Ragas, Rose Mackey, Albert Jr., Nicholas Sr., Joseph Sr., Peter and Alvin Gibson Sr.  He was also the Godfather of Quiana Gibson and the devoted friend of Sam Brooks.  He was also blessed with a host of nieces and nephews who adored him and cared for him as if they were his children.  Their favorite nickname for him was “Uncle Monkey” or  “Spot”.

Also left to cherish his memories and celebrate his life are his sisters- In-law, great nieces and nephews as well as several cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday November 24, 2018 at the Saint Patrick Catholic Church located at 28683 La-23 Port Sulphur La. 70083 at 11 A.M. Visitation will begin at 9 A.M.  Father Gerald Stapleton will celebrate the mass and Interment will follow in Mount Zion Memorial Park in Empire La.
